This antique ring is a form of jewelry called a mourning ring, which typically contains a piece of hair from the person who had passed on. This ring in particular is special due to the flipable center setting, on one side, a clear picture cut piece of stone or glass holding in the hair with a halo of 18 small seed pearls, its flips over to reveal a hand carved snake eating its tail in 9kt yellow gold wrapped around a black enamel inscription "Telos Goord Binov 1819, AE163" and the shank is engraved on the inside with "Tybelley, Ob25, June 1821, R. 10 Months"
This piece cannot be sized and cannot be cleaned in an ultrasonic clear or with water as it could get under the center stone and damage the hair.
